Beneo-Remy, a rice processing company, is mainly known for its ‘Remy Starch' product. De Watergroep prepared a study for the construction of a new water treatment plant.
The previous groundwater treatment installation consisted of an iron removal unit, followed by a softening unit. In the new plant built by De Watergroep, groundwater is first softened (removal of calcium) by a pellet reactor, after which a new ion exchange system removes the remaining magnesium hardness. The pellet reactor reduces the load on the ion exchangers, resulting in lower chemical consumption. Under this project, De Watergroep is responsible for the study and commissioning of the pellet reactor.
